Frequently asked questions

Is Traralgon Solar the business doing the work?

No. Traralgon Solar is an enquiry and referral website operated by Yes Right Pty Ltd. Your enquiry is passed to an independent local provider, which assesses the job, gives you its own quote and, if you accept, installs or repairs the system. Your contract, warranty and payment arrangements are with that provider.

What solar and battery jobs can I enquire about?

New solar panel systems, home batteries added to new or existing solar, inverter replacements, fault finding and repairs, two-yearly safety servicing, system upgrades, and taking panels off and putting them back during roof work. Describe the job in the form and say whether the system is already on the roof.

Who needs to be licensed to install solar or a battery in Victoria?

The installer must be a licensed electrician working for a Registered Electrical Contractor, and for rebates the installer must hold Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation (with battery endorsement for batteries). An independent Licensed Electrical Inspector must inspect solar and battery work, and you should receive a Certificate of Electrical Safety.

Can I still get a rebate on solar panels or a battery?

Eligible Victorian owner-occupiers can apply for the Solar Homes solar panel rebate with an optional interest-free loan, and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program gives a discount on eligible batteries through the installer. Solar Victoria is no longer taking applications for its battery loan. Check solar.vic.gov.au and cer.gov.au for the current conditions before you sign a quote.

Does sending the form book an installer?

No. The form starts an enquiry only. A provider still has to confirm it can take the job, work out the system design and give you a written quote. Availability and timing are not guaranteed, and the form should not be used for an electrical emergency.

What should I include in my enquiry?

Your suburb, whether you own the home, the type of job, roughly how much power you use (a recent bill helps), whether you already have panels or a battery, the inverter brand if there is one, and photos of the roof and meter box if you can take them safely from the ground.

Ready to start?

Tell us about your roof, your bills and any system you have now. An installer has to confirm the design and when they can start.
